Zen Color uses an adaptive five-tier system ranging from Starter (around 200 tiles) to Mastery (6,000+ tiles). New artworks are unlocked as you complete pieces, and the engine learns your preferred tempo within the first week.

No. The full base library and every brush type are free. Optional palette packs and an ad-free upgrade are available, but they are not required to enjoy the experience.

Yes. The app is genuinely offline-first. All artworks, brushes and palettes work without an internet connection — ideal for flights or remote travel across Australia.

Palettes unlock progressively as you complete artworks in adjacent colour families, or via curated seasonal drops. There is no random reward loot mechanism.

Cloud sync is currently in public beta. You can also export local backups via the Settings → Data screen. Final stable cloud sync is expected in version 3.2.

The app supports system-level text scaling and includes high-contrast palette modes. A dedicated low-vision theme with bold tile borders is available in the Accessibility menu.

Per the developer's privacy policy, Zen Color collects only anonymous usage analytics. No account is required to use the app, and no personal data is sold to third parties.

The base install is approximately 88 MB. Downloading the full optional palette library adds around 120 MB.

Ads appear between artworks, not during painting. They are static or short video and can be removed with a one-time in-app purchase.

The content library is family-friendly. However, parental supervision is recommended for in-app purchases. The app is rated for general audiences on Google Play.

If cloud sync is enabled or you have exported a local backup, yes. Otherwise progress resides on the device only — we recommend regular backups.
